DONAL O'Brien (pictured) was not happy when deemed guilty of giving away penalty to holders Glentoran in the Gold Cup quarter- final defeat.
The 30 year old Dubliner hopes he's not retained in a centre back role in this afternoon's Mid-Ulster derby against Portadown at Mourneview Park.
"I'd rather be in the centre of midfield, playing a wee bit ahead of Lee Doherty. And after what happened against the Glens one of my old clubs, its may be best I stay out of the defence.
"Still, I cannot help feeling annoyed by the penalty award that was not but was given. Tim McCann leaned into me. I held my hands up and whatever contact was made by him was outside the area, anyhow.
"On top of that, the ball rolled 20 yards into our goalkeeper's hands. Quite apart from being puzzled why a penalty was awarded, I cannot understand why I was handed a yellow card, booked . . . but not sent off.
"If it was a penalty, that I was the last man between the Glentoran player concerned and our goal, I should have been sent off.
