El Modelo B Corp como Paradigma de Sostenibilidad en la Hotelería Mexicana: El caso del Hotel El Ganzo y su contribución socioambiental

Abstract

Las Empresas B son organizaciones con objetivos sociales, ambientales y económicos. Forman parte del “movimiento B”, impulsado por B Lab, que certifica el impacto social y medioambiental. Existen casi 10,000 empresas en 103 países y más de 160 industrias. En 2023, México contaba con 304 certificadas. El Hotel El Ganzo, en San José del Cabo (Baja California Sur), fue el primer hotel en México y el tercero en Latinoamérica en obtener la certificación B Corp. El objetivo de investigación fue evaluar el modelo operativo de estos hoteles y las soluciones que ofrecen a problemáticas sociales y ambientales. La investigación fue documental, cualitativa y descriptiva-explicativa. Se concluye que la corporación obtuvo la distinción por su impacto en comunidad, colaboradores y medio ambiente.

There are almost 10,000 companies in 103 countries and more than 160 industries. In 2023, Mexico had 304 certified companies. Hotel El Ganzo, in San José del Cabo (Baja California Sur), was the first hotel in Mexico and the third in Latin America to obtain B Corp certification. The research objective was to evaluate the operating model of these hotels and the solutions they offer to social and environmental problems. The research was documentary, qualitative and descriptive-explanatory. It was concluded that the corporation obtained the distinction for its impact on the community, collaborators and the environment.
