Richard Dawkins'te Argumentum Ad Hominem: Ateizm Argümanları Kapsamında Bir Analiz

Abstract

Biyolog ve doğa bilimci olan Richard Dawkins, yeni ateizmin en önemli temsilcilerinden biridir. Varoluşsal sorulara Tanrı ve dinden bağımsız cevaplar üreten Dawkins, yeni ateizmin argümanlarını tüm dünyada popüler hale getirmiştir. Dawkins ateistik argümanlarını savunmak için bilim, felsefe ve mantığı bir araç olarak kullanmıştır. Bu durum onun birçok mantık hatası yapmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışma Dawkins'in en çok yaptığı informel mantık hatası argumentum ad homineme odaklanmaktadır. Makalenin özgün taraflarından biri daha önce çalışılmamış olan bu konuyu ele almasıdır. Ayrıca makalenin teorik kısmını oluşturan birinci bölümde literatürdeki tasniflerden farklı olarak daha açıklayıcı olduğu düşünülen yeni bir tasnif önerilmiş ve önerilen her bir alt tür için çıkarım biçimleri formülize edilmiştir. Makalenin uygulama kısmını oluşturan ikinci bölümde ad hominem Dawkins'in yeni ateistik argümanlarına uygulanmıştır. Bunun neticesinde Dawkins'in kişi karalama mantık hatasının dindara ve ilahiyatçıya yönelik olduğu, kişi karalamanın ötesinde Tanrı'yı da hedef aldığı tespit edilmiş ve bu kapsamda yeni türler önerilmiştir. Dindar karalama mantık hatası için argumentum ad religiosum, ilahiyatçı karalama mantık hatası için argumentum ad theologum ve Tanrı karalama mantık hatası için argumentum ad deum türleri önerilmiş, önerilen yeni türler tanımlanmış ve çıkarsama biçimleri formülize edilmiştir. Makalede yöntem olarak literatür analizi kullanılmıştır.

Richard Dawkins, a biologist and naturalist, is one of the most important agents of the new atheism. Dawkins, who produced answers to existential questions independent of God and religion, popularized the arguments of the new atheism all over the world. Dawkins has used science, philosophy, and logic as a tool to defend his atheistic arguments. This caused him to make many logical fallacies. This study focuses on Dawkins' most common informal logical fallacy, the argumentum ad hominem. One of the original aspects of this article is that it handles this topic, which has not been studied before. Moreover, in the first section, which constitutes the theoretical part of this article, a new classification, which is thought to be more explanatory than the classifications in the literature, is proposed and inference forms are formulated for each suggested sub-type. In the second section, which constitutes the application part of the article, ad hominem is applied to Dawkins' new atheistic arguments. As a result, it has been determined that Dawkins' person-denigrating logical fallacy is aimed at the religious and theologian and that it targets God beyond person-denigrating, and new types have been proposed within this scope. The argumentum ad religiosum for the religious-denigrating logical fallacy, the argumentum ad theologum for the theologian-denigrating logical fallacy, and the argumentum ad deum for the God-denigrating logical fallacy are proposed types, the proposed new types are defined and their inference forms are formulated. Literature analysis was used as a method in this article.
