It gives me immense pleasure to note that the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the 4th International Conference on Materials Science & Engineering (ICMSE) 2023 during June 11-12, 2025, at Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. Also, it is a matter of great delight that academicians, researchers, and industry experts actively participated and shared their innovative ideas and thoughts in the conference to shape the future of India. This was evident from the fact that more than 70 participants submitted their research in the materials science domain for presentation in ICMSE 2025. The conference received tremendous response not only from India but also from other countries such as Taiwan, Ireland, and others. This is the fourth conference in line with the previous three conferences, ICMSE 2019 (11-12th June), ICMSE 2022 (11-12th June), and ICMSE 2023 (23-25 November). The 1st conference was held in offline mode. Then, due to COVID-19, we were unable to organize the conference for two years. The conference was organized in an online mode in 2022. The proceedings of the previous conference, ICMSE 2022, were published by Web of Science-indexed IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering. The proceedings of ICMSE 2023 were published by Scopus-indexed Materials Today Proceedings (Elsevier).
The conference, I am sure, will certainly provide a common platform for young scientists, budding engineers from various R&D, industrial organizations, and faculty from academic institutions for fruitful interaction. It will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of information on advances in materials science and engineering in the context of Mechanical Engineering for the betterment of mankind and India in particular.
I am sure the deliberations will certainly stimulate the young researchers, who are the future of our nation, to achieve an unprecedented landmark in Mechanical Engineering. I am confident that it will have a significant impact on engineering education, research practices, and development. The spirit of the conference lies in the belief that sharing experiences is inevitable in materials development. I wish to take this opportunity to invite the academicians and researchers from India and abroad to this beautiful campus of NIT Jalandhar. I wish them a pleasant stay. I hope the participants will return home with cherished memories and an enriched knowledge from the experience of this international conference.
