THUNDER rumbled, lighting cracked, and it began to pour heavily. Thirty thousand fans who had come for the Mariah Carey's Rainbow Tour Concert at Singapore's Kallang National Stadium were about to be drenched, right?
No, In fact they were dry and delighted.
The stormy weather depicted on a video screen in the middle of the stage marked the beginning of the concert, and acted as an anti- climax to usher in the sunrise and Mariah Carey on stage.
From that moment on, the sun never set throughout the two-and-a- half hour concert on March 13, where the sultry singer belted out one hit song after another like Heartbreaker, Emotions, My All, Always Be My Baby, Dreamlover and Hero.
It was Carey's one-night performance in Singapore and her first show in eight years, so it was a not-to-be-missed event for fans.
Backed by dancers and musicians, Carey kicked off the show with a Emotions, My All, and Always Be My Baby which pleased the anxious crowd and whetted their appetite for more.
Of all the stage props and special effects, the most impressive was a giant vertical screen which projected a larger-than-life image of the pop star on stage.
