IT was the home of redcoats, glamorous grannies and knobbly-knees contests.
And for generations of Scots, it was a popular holiday destination for cash- strapped families on a budget.
But yesterday, the bulldozers moved in to start demolishing Butlin's Wonderwest World in Ayr.
In truth, the job was started years ago by gangs of marauding youths.
Fuelled by drink and drugs, they had already tarnished the wholesome image of the seaside holiday camp.
Decent families were chased away by thugs intent on creating...
