The American Library Association Games and Gaming Roundtable (GameRT) has developed a guide for cataloging tabletop games, created for both catalogers and noncatalogers alike. The guide provides recommendations and examples in multiple degrees of complexity, mirroring current cataloging standards and practices, and using the classic game Catan as an example. The guide is available at https://games.ala.org/ tabletop-cataloging-guide.
Beginning in April 2025, OCLC started adding Dewey uniform resource identifiers (URIs) to WorldCat MARC records as $1 links in 082 (Dewey Classification Number) bibliographic fields. Using machineactionable and web-friendly URIs, Dewey linked data connects across established classifications and subject headings data, such as Faceted Application of Subject Terminology (FAST) linked data. The OCLC Research team helped map Dewey classifications to FAST topical headings and added these relationships to the Dewey linked data. Adding Dewey URIs to WorldCat further empowers discovery, saves users time and effort by allowing seamless navigation between the library catalog and Dewey linked data, and further expands linked data integration with WorldCat MARC records. Anyone is free to view and access a base set of Dewey linked data at https://entities. oclc.org/worldcat/ddc.
