ROB ROY 1
BEITH 0
JOHN RICHARDSON insists booking a place in the quarter-finals of the Whyte & Mackay Cup was more important than playing pretty football against Beith.
Stephen McPeake scored the only goal and despite the lack of quality on show, Rob Roy boss Richardson is more than happy with a result that gives them a chance to deliver silverware to a club who have gone through a barren spell.
He said: "I've only arrived this season and I couldn't tell you the last time Rob Roy were among honours but it's my duty to deliver and I will try my best.
"We're delighted to get through this match although it wasn't the greatest of games.
"The most important thing is getting a result and what's pleasing is that it's against a team in the higher division who are going for promotion.
"I've seen us play better and get nothing from games but on this occasion all that mattered was winning.
"I have to compliment our committee because our park has been in a terrible state....
