Blue Murder ITV, 9.00pm THE pilot episode of this cop drama pulled in a respectable eight million viewers last year, reason enough for ITV to turn it into a series.
Caroline Quentin is no-nonsense DCI Janine Lewis, a woman trying to find the elusive work-life balance.
Back at work after maternity leave and still separated from husband Pete, Janine now has a baby and three children to look after.
Down at the cop shop, she finds herself embroiled in the murky world of prostitution and eastern European people-trafficking.
Janine witnesses a hit-and-run that leaves a schoolgirl badly hurt, but is called away when the body of a lap-dancer is found by a river.
