Abstract

El grado de participación de la empresa en la Formación Profesional (FP) ha ido variando a lo largo de la historia hasta desembocar en la aprobación de la Ley Orgánica de FP 3/2022 que viene a afianzar la FP Dual –formación impartida en colaboración por centro docente y empresa– como metodología en el sistema educativo español. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la evolución histórica del papel de la empresa en la FP hasta finales del siglo XIX para comprender el desarrollo del sistema normalizado iniciado en el siglo XX y que culmina con el sistema integral de la FP aprobado por la citada ley orgánica. El análisis permite concluir que la FP en España evolucionó desde una formación en el entorno laboral bajo el sistema gremial y las Reales Fábricas hacia una institucionalización gradual marcada por una creciente intervención estatal y una progresiva desaparición del papel de la empresa en la formación. Este proceso culminó a finales del siglo XIX en una FP integrada en el sistema educativo.

The degree of company involvement in Vocational Education and Training (VET) has changed throughout history. This has culminated in the approval of the Organic Law on VET 3/2022, which consolidates Dual VET –training provided in collaboration between schools and companies– as a methodology in the Spanish education system. The aim of this paper is to analyse the historical evolution of the role of the company in VET up to the end of the 19th century in order to understand the development of the standardised system that began in the 20th century and culminated in the comprehensive system of VET approved by the aforementioned organic law. The analysis leads to conclude that VET in Spain evolved from training in the work environment under the guild system and the Royal Factories to a gradual institutionalisation, marked by increasing state intervention, and a progressive disappearance of the role of the company in training. This process culminated at the end of the 19th century in VET integrated into the education system.
