Resumen: En este trabajo se aborda el tema de la creación de la imprenta y su relación con la presencia de la heráldica castellana en los impresos realizados en el período de los incunables y postincunables (hasta 1520). Se analiza el cambio en el mercado del libro y la revolución que provocó la imprenta en la difusión de los textos, y cómo la Corona y la Iglesia van a intentar controlar este caudal informativo y aprovecharlo para extender rápidamente sus textos legislativos y normativos. Esto conllevó que sus símbolos heráldicos empezaran a aparecer en esas obras, y por ende la nobleza laica también empezará a colocar su heráldica en ellos, ya sea como motivo de prestigio o bien por su relación con el autor o impresor de los mismos.
Abstract: This work addresses the topic of the creation of the printing press and its relationship with the presence of Castilian heraldry in the prints made in the period of the incunabula and post-incunabula (until 1520). It analyzes the change in the book market and the revolution that the printing press caused in the dissemination of texts, and how the Crown and the Church are going to try to control this flow of information and take advantage of it to quickly extend their legislative and regulatory texts. This meant that their heraldic symbols began to appear in these works, and therefore the lay nobility also began to place their heraldry on them, either as a reason for prestige or because of their relationship with the author or printer of them.

Los libros manuscritos eran un verdadero lujo durante la época medieval, y mucho más cuando se encargaban para tener una iluminación específica que los enriquecía.
