University tutoring, a pedagogical activity carried out by the tutor teacher, consists of accompanying the student throughout their academic training with the purpose of achieving comprehensive development and preventing dropouts. The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between the profile and functions of the tutor in the tutoring needs of students at the Professional School of Nursing of the UNA Puno, 2023. The methodology used was a non-experimental quantitative approach, with a correlational, multivariate design. The sample consisted of 350 students who met the inclusion criteria. For data collection, the questionnaire instrument applied for the variables profile and functions of the tutor and the tutoring needs was the Tutoring Evaluation Scale in Higher Education, through the survey technique. For data analysis, Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient was used. In the results, the variables teacher profile and tutoring needs had a p-value of 0.000 and a Rho of 0.611, presenting a positive correlation with considerable intensity; in the variables tutor functions and tutoring needs a p-value of 0.000 and an Rho of 0.805 were observed, indicating a positive correlation of very strong intensity. We conclude that there is a positive correlation of considerable and very strong intensity between the variables studied.
