REPRESENTACIONES SOCIALES DE ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS INDÍGENAS SOBRE LA UNIVERSIDAD

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las representaciones sociales que han construido estudiantes universitarios indígenas sobre la universidad, situados como sujetos de análisis desde una doble condición: la de ser estudiantes y ser indígenas. El abordaje metodológico es cualitativo, se empleó la encuesta y el cuestionario como técnica e instrumento de investigación. Los principales hallazgos permiten identificar que las representaciones sociales elaboradas por este grupo de estudiantes giraron en torno a concebir la universidad como un espacio formativo, de movilidad social, social, catalizador de metas y/o sueños, de sacrificio y de relación juvenil; el núcleo central se ubicó en considerarla como espacio formativo fuertemente ligado a los fines de movilidad social.

This article analyzes the social representations that students from indigenous communities have constructed regarding university, positioned as subjects of analysis from a dual perspective: that of being students and being indigenous. The methodological approach is qualitative, using surveys and questionnaires as research techniques and instruments. The main findings identify that the social representations developed by this group of students focused on conceiving the university as a space for training, social mobility, a catalyst for goals and/or dreams, sacrifice, and youth relationships; the core focus was on considering it as a training space strongly linked to the goals of social mobility.
