Justin Morgan was relieved his tired Hull KR side came through to beat York City Knights and make it a happy 31st birthday for the Aussie coach.
Rovers had to come from 10-0 down at the interval to win 21-10, and are six points clear in National League One with five games to go.
"We're a tired side and I've said that all along," Morgan told the Mail.
"We have yet to have a week off this season. We've played mid-week games against Doncaster and York as well as the cup runs.
"This is the first time these players have been full-time and I'm having to shorten training sessions down to half an hour because we're not getting the quality that I want from them.

"The first half was a poor display from us, but we came up against a strong determined York side."
Rovers regrouped at half-time and dominated the field positions and eventually their influential skipper James Webster led them to victory.
Morgan was pleased his side turned things around after the break.
"We kicked a lot better and we played better field position and we eventually came up with the points," he said.
"I was pleased with our defensive performance in the second half.
"We knew what we were missing at half-time.
"In the wet conditions, you have to hold the ball. At times I felt 51 not 31."
