A BRIDGE carrying an important road into York over the East Coast Main Line is to be strengthened and restored at a cost of [Pounds]1m.
Holgate Road bridge, which is used by A59 traffic in and out of the city, will have to be partially closed by Network Rail between February 8 and March 21.
Network Rail's route director, Dyan Crowther, said: "During this project we will waterproof and repaint the entire structure as well as carrying out strengthening works and resurfacing the road and pedestrian walkways.
