Take note. Cathy Dennis is back. And she wants to put the record straight. The 27-year-old Norfolk broad, who releases a new single - West End Pad - in mid-July, says she's still mad at reports which placed her among the top 20 British female earners of 1993 and 1994, with an estimated income of pounds 3 million.
From 1990 she had 10 consecutive Top 40 singles in the UK and sold more than two million copies of her first two albums. Meanwhile in America, she was a superstar, hitting the Top 10 with dance classics like C'mon And Get My Love and Touch Me (All Night Long), as well as guesting on the top-rated TV show Beverly Hills 90210. So, surely the riches were flowing? Cathy doesn't agree,
"My records may have made a lot of money but I was never as well off personally as people claimed I was," argues the flame-haired songstress with a feistiness disarming in one so elfin-like. "They forgot about the overheads. I'm one of those people who invests heavily in everything I do: travel, clothes, videos and wages all need to be paid for. A video alone can cost pounds 300,000.
