GLENVALE Transport yesterday said it intended to become the biggest bus operator on Merseyside following the takeover of one of its rivals.
In a deal believed to be worth several million pounds Gillmossbased Glenvale (GTL), launched just two years ago, has bought CMTbuses ofAintree.
Managing director Dominic Brady said yesterday that the takeover now gave GTL a 30pc share of the Merseyside bus market ands aid he planned to challenge Arriva's position as number one.
Merseytravel, however, insists GTL's market share is nearer 24pc.
