IF you still subscribe to the philosophy that nostalgia ain't what it used to be, you clearly missed Dave Edmunds' pilgrimage down the back alleys of rock and roll.
For those born later than 1960, Cardiff-born Edmunds is best known for a 1970 number one hit,I Hear You Knocking. And he celebrated his 60th birthday with a sell-out home town gig at Cardiff's 19th century Coal Exchange, recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio Wales.
The Victorian trading hall with Corinthian columns,oak balcony and wood panelling,in the heart of the old docklands, resembled more a students' union venue from the 70s -except surely someone let the parents and grandparents in.
