WITH the 2005 Total RL Summer Conference Rugby League season reaching its climax the Liverpool Buccaneers are preparing for the biggest game in their three-year history.
As the only rugby league club in Liverpool, the Buccaneers have taken the game by storm and tomorrow they face Rochdale in the post- season North West division play-off final with a place in the National Final at stake.
The Buccaneers finished the regular season in second place in the tough North West division of the Summer Conference - equal on matches won and lost with Warrington Wizards, but with a slightly inferior points difference.
However, in last week's postseason play-off match Liverpool beat the Wizards 39-26 to secure a place in tomorrow's final at Sefton RUFC, in West Derby.
'We've exceeded every expectation,' said chairman Chris Lee.
'We were hoping to improve on last year's successful season, but to achieve what we have this year is quite incredible.
