HULL KR equalled their club record of 14 successive wins at the start of a season by beating Widnes 42-28 at the Halton Stadium in Division One of the LHF Healthplan National League.
Ben Cockayne and ex-Viking Tommy Gallagher scored two tries each, while impressive scrum-half James Webster also grabbed a try to cap a superb all-round display.
It meant Rovers were never in danger of failing to equal the 14- game record in all competitions, which was set in 1963.
Gareth Morton, who landed seven goals, also powered over for the visitors as did stand-off Scott Murrell.
