Kylie: I Believe In You
Hands up if you love Kylie! Hands up if you love the Scissor Sisters! Put the two together and you get a fantastic new single from the diminutive Queen of Pop, co-written with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and Babydaddy. As undeniably camp as this collaboration would suggest, this new track sees Kylie move away from the baby- voiced sex kitten of recent singles to a more brooding, sophisticated sound. Pulsating and synth-based, I Believe In You is more reminiscent of Confide In Me than the modern classic Can't Get You Out Of My Head, but it's a slinky, polished tune that grows on.

Cheeky Girls: Boys and Girls
During the American invasion of Panama in 1989, US armed forces played loud rock music in an attempt to flush out the Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega. A similar attempt is currently in operation in the embattled streets of Fallujah, Iraq. Troops are using tracks such as AC/DC's Hells Bells in a psychological attempt to thwart the city's insurgents. I believe that if troops were to deploy the new Cheeky Girls single they would see stability quickly return to the Sunni Muslim stronghold.
The duo's latest chart outing is sadly a double-A side. A truly awful spin on the truly awful Sabrina track, Boys, imaginatively re- titled Boys and Girls, which is teamed with a shambolic cover of Daddy Cool. Now, where's that terrorism handbook we all got in the post, I need to report some suspicious Transylvanians, for the good of British music.
