Toronto -- Badanna Zack's The Pool Room and Leya Evelyn's paintings, Familiar Shadows, are in sharp contrast, yet each explores and fuses details from the past.
These works are appearing at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery in Hart House, at the University of Toronto until June 17.
Zack does not shoot pool but her regulation 4 ft x 8 ft pool table, a composite of wooden forms, laminated papier mache and corrugated cardboard, appears authentic. Billiard balls and cues and rack are all faux creations. The pool table is centred under a hanging fixture and the light is...
