NOBEL prize winner J.M. Coetzee's most recent book, Elizabeth Costello, overlooked for the 2003 Booker Prize short list, is among six novels nominated in the fiction category of the 2004 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature. The South Australian-based, two- time Booker winner is up against a strong list of candidates including 2003 Miles Franklin winner, Alex Miller, NSW Premier's Prize 2003 laureate Kate Jennings, and Janette Turner Hospital, who took out the Queensland Premier's 2003 prize. The winners will be announced on February 29, the first day of Writers' Week.
