EVEN the federal Education Minister couldn't save Bruce Flegg from another tough lesson on the campaign trail yesterday.
After running an hour late to his own press conference, the Queensland Liberal leader was stumped by questions about the history of Brisbane and Australia.
Dr Flegg -- who was installed as Liberal leader just two weeks ago after ousting Bob Quinn -- tripped up in the first week of the campaign when he equivocated on who would be premier if the Coalition won the election.
Announcing the Coalition's plans to beef up history and English in high schools yesterday, Dr Flegg was tongue-tied when asked who Brisbane was named after and when the Second Fleet arrived.
"Ah ... I think it ... No, I don't know," Dr Flegg said.
