INUIT furs, armour plating and Japanese flags collided on the catwalk in Alexander McQueen's latest ready-to-wear collection in Paris yesterday.
The talented British designer displayed stiff dresses in gladiator skirt panels split open to reveal sunpleated skirts. A speckled fur jacket was scattered with gold sequins as "Nanook of the North" met the space age 1960s.
Guests gathered at a concert venue in northern Paris for the display on the third day of the Paris autumn-winter shows, which also featured designs by Viktor & Rolf and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
