FREESTYLE skier Manuela Berchtold has won her fight for inclusion in Australia's Olympic team just four days before her event begins.
Berchtold, 24, was rushed into the Olympic village in Salt Lake City, Utah, last night after the Court of Arbitration for Sport agreed there had been extenuating circumstances in her case.
She arrived in the Olympic city the previous day in hope of winning her appeal. She pleaded that a knee injury had hampered her bid to qualify for the Games at last year's world championships.
Skiing Australia then agreed to nominate Berchtold to the AOC, which immediately ratified her 11th-hour selection.
