A NEW look at Ned Kelly's life and a play where the main characters get blown up are two contenders for this year's Victorian Premier's Literary Awards.
The prestigious annual awards offer $76,000 in prize money to the country's best wordsmiths, with 15 pieces of literature competing for the top prizes over five categories.
The shortlisted works were announced yesterday and the winners will be announced at a dinner presentation on October 19.
Readings from the works will be part of the Melbourne Writers' Festival, and can be heard at noon on Sunday, September 2 at the Malthouse Theatre. Bookings:...
