THELMA JEAN SOLOMON
Feminist activist

IT was Thelma Jean Solomon's mission to make life better for women.
Whether it was fighting for equal opportunity, for girls in education, against sexist advertising on TV or exposing the difficulties women faced in the workplace, Thelma did whatever it took to expose the incongruities women faced.
When growing up, Thelma was noted for being adventurous and daring. Her family considered she was as game as Ned Kelly.
As a member of her high school hockey team, Thelma's speed and accuracy in scoring goals was especially noteworthy, a trait she carried through her life.
She also grew up with a strong sense of social justice.
