SOUTH Melbourne supporters either don't care or don't realise the gravity of their club's plight.
Less than 1000 fans attended a rally at Bob Jane Stadium yesterday designed to show the strength of the club's support.
Organisers -- the Friends Of South group -- had hoped 10,000 would turn up,
They said they needed such a show of passion if the club was to avoid extinction in the next few weeks.
South is $1.5 million in debt and has no business to run since being ruled out of the running to join the new Australian Premier League.
It must find that money to avoid losing tenancy at Bob Jane Stadium and and disappearing completely.
