The appeal of the real Narnia is calling you, writes VERONICA MATHESON
THE magic of Narnia's magnificent lion, Aslan, is about to lure tourists to Northern Ireland to explore the inspirational landscape of C.S. Lewis's childhood.
Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia, told friends the mountains of Mourne and the rugged Antrim coastline were the inspiration for the mythical Narnia, portrayed in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Lewis's family home was in Northern Ireland's capital, Belfast, which has experienced its own reincarnation of sorts in recent times.
Gone is the noise of bomb blasts, replaced by the boom of construction sites that have sent property prices soaring across the city.
Belfast is now a "must-see" destination, with a British newspaper poll naming it second-most popular UK destination after Edinburgh.
