Aussies on Rockie road
HIT ABC comedy series Summer Heights High and The Chaser's War on Everything have been nominated for Rockie Awards at the prestigious Banff World TV Festival in Canada on June 9. The programs will compete against series including Ricky Gervais's Extras and Desperate Housewives. Also nominated for Rockies are children's series Erky Perky, documentaries Searching 4 Sandeep and Tasmanian Devil: The Fast and Furious Life of Errol Flynn. The finalists are among 100 selected from the more than 900 entries received this year in 22 program categories, from 44 countries. The Chaser, along with another ABC comedy The Librarians, also are up for awards at the Rose D'Or Festival for Television Programming in Switzerland on May 6. The Rockie nomination is great news for Summer Heights High creator and star Chris Lilley (pictured right as SHH character Ja'mie), who is nominated for this year's Gold Logie. More than 250,000 copies of the Summer Heights High DVD have been sold.
