Someone should pay for city's big mistake: [Final Edition]

This procedure seems to be the norm for municipalities, provincial and federal governments, just pass the dirt under the mat and carry on as if nothing is wrong.

Dear sir:

In reading the papers about the illegal referendum, I certainly think someone should be held accountable for this "error."

Where in the working class would we be able to keep our jobs if we spent the money the city manager and council spent in this referendum and passed it off as an error and still had a job?

The lowly taxpayer will pay for it anyway.
