Loew's Jersey City Theatre Opens with Opera Recital TRIUMPH OVER WRECKING BALL
June 21, 1999 was a exemplary night. It was another instance of the community's triumph over the wrecking ball. It came in the form an opera recital, in that Jersey City jewel, known as the Loew's Theatre. This launched the resuscitated continued life of this theatre.
Over the years the wrecking ball often destroyed great architecture which often in the 1800's or early 1900's. But now people say, "NO!" and the powers that be listen and stop. SIMILAR VICTORY
Not far away (4 blocks) Congressman Frank Guarini led the fight that preserved the Hudson County Court House, appropriately named the William Brennan Court House. It's an Italian Renaissance style Court House, where I and my daughter have the pleasure to practice law. These court rooms are often used in movie.
