Six years of hard work by members of the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin will come to fruition with the opening of a $4.7 million temple complex on a 20.5-acre plot in the Milwaukee suburb of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, later this month.
The opening ceremonies will mainly consist of Prana Pratishthapana [installation and infusing of life into the deities] and Kumbabhiskekam [pouring of holy waters on the deities].
Four master artisans from India are currently busy with the intricately carved inner sanctum sanctorum. The deities have been brought from India.
The temple will be inaugurated June 28. The ceremonies will culminate in the Pratishsthapana and Maha Kumbabhishekam June 30.
The deities to be installed are Ganesh, Shivalinga, Navagraha, Vishnu (the main deity) with Lakshmi, Venkateswara with Devi and Bhudevi, Radha and...
