Caucus Lauds Renaming Of Interboro Parkway To Jackie Robinson Parkway
On Tuesday, April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League baseball as the first African American hired to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Fifty years later, in memory of this historic accomplishment and his many other outstanding contributions, the Interboro Parkway was renamed the "Jackie Robinson Parkway." The New York State Black, Puerto Rican and Hispanic Caucus commends the tribute.
