RACINE--S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. has considered moving a portion of its headquarters to Chicago because the maker of Raid, Shout, Glade and other famous consumer products cannot attract enough "world-class talent" based here.
In a speech to the Racine Area Manufacturers & Commerce annual meeting, S.C. Johnson President and Chief Executive Officer William D. Perez said his company's problem will not be solved without an improved public school system and commuter rail links to Milwaukee and Chicago.
Perez said a recent internal corporate memo that landed on his desk recommends a pilot study to decide whether to move a portion of the company's headquarters to Chicago to attract top executive-level talent.
