Don't forget Saturday, October 13, for the big..gib.. Big Brother Annual Picnic. Your family and guests are welcome and the Big Brothers have again reserved a part of Roberts Recreational Area located in the scenic hills of east Oakland and easily reached from San Francisco or the East Bay. In the morning you can join informal groups for football, softball, volleyball or hiking. You will again be served lunch by the Knights of Columbus John Mapes Council at noon. In the afternoon you can enter various contests such as dashes, three-legged or sack races or the ever popular balloon throw. If just watching is your pleasure, do it. Experts have again predicted that the Little Brothers will drag the Big Brothers all over the grass in the tug-of-war. Time 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Roberts Recreational Area in Redwood Regional Park, Oakland.
