It's been a record-setting weekend at Frontier Park. Three Doors Down, Theory of a Deadman, Parachute and Safetysuit performed to a packed stadium at Frontier Park on July 17 as they kicked off the Cheyenne Frontier Days' night shows.
George Strait's and Julianne Hough's concert on July 18 set an attendance record, drawing 22,705 people and becoming the largest outdoor concert ever held in Wyoming.
And after tonight's second run of the Professional Bull Riders, there are still four Night Shows left:
- Rodney Atkins on Cheyenne Day
- Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler on Thursday
- Kenny Chesney and Jake Owen with a two-night string on Friday and Saturday.
Before you see the performers hit the stage, though, a lot goes on behind the scenes as the Wyoming Tribune Eagle found out with last Friday's headliner Three Doors Down.
The run up to the concert began at 3 p.m. as the group's road manager, Tim Sharkey, attempted to round up the band for a sound check.
Sharkey made a comment about the act being similar to herding cats.
But the band couldn't be blamed for wanting downtime for cat naps, they had performed a late show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver the night before and had another late night ahead of them.
The members of Three Doors Down include bass player Todd Harrell, rhythm guitarist Chris Henderson, lead guitarist Matt Roberts, drummer Greg Upchurch and lead...
