The world premiere of two pieces of cartoon music that are rarely heard and have been rescored for "Movie Magic II" will be presented by the 65-member Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in concert on Saturday.
At the same time, two cartoon shorts will be shown while the orchestra plays the music composed by Carl Stalling.
"This is a pops concert with all movie music," said Stephen Alltop, CSO conductor.
Other movie themes include "Mission Impossible," "Lord of the Rings," the theme from James Bond and others.
"It's going to be a challenge that's very difficult to do," Alltop said. "To coordinate the cow sitting on the barrel with the tuba. But it should be fun."
Dr. Anne Guzzo is the music and audio visual archivist at the American Heritage Center and composer for the UW music department. She met Alltop after a concert he performed at in Laramie.
"He had mentioned that they would do this movie music concert," she said.
Guzzo told Alltop she was a music archivist.
"He came over one week last spring and said, 'What do you have?'" Guzzo said.
