An elderly man receiving warfarin developed GI haemorrhage during concomitant treatment with nalidixic acid [Nevigramon].
At the age of 68 years in 2003, the man underwent amputation of his right leg up to the lower third of the femur. Following the surgery, he started receiving warfarin 7.5 mg/day to prevent thromboembolic complications. In 2004, he developed heartburn. An oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) showed chronic gastritis; he periodically took antacids when the heartburn developed. From the start of 2008, he developed dysuric abnormality in the form of increased urination.
