DHR Director Albert P. Russo announced today that the department's conditional designation as the State Health Planning and Development Agency (SHPDA) for the District of Columbia has been renewed. The designation carries with it a grant of $723,000 from the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
DHR has served as the SHPDA for the District since March 1, 1977 when HEW granted the department authorization to function as a state health planning agency under the provisions of the Health Planning and Resources Act (P.L. 93-641).
