"Tremors" is as much a living fossil as are the giant worms that devour a good deal of the people and buildings of Perfection, Nev.
And "Tremors" is a direct descendant of those 1950s monster movies - "The Thing," "The Blob" and "Tarantuala" come to mind first - in which a creature of unknown origins goes about terrorizing a community. Only by the townsfolks' skill and wits do a few good people survive.
