Wednesday, October 17 BENNINGTON -- A New York City theater company will honor Bennington College for its "artistic courage" and dedication to the company on Oct. 29 at a ceremony with Hollywood stars.
The college will receive the annual Dave Hoghe Award from the award-winning LAByrinth Theater Company, which is led by Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman and actor John Ortiz, of, "Amistad," and "Miami Vice." The award, in its fifth year, was first given to pop icon Madonna in 2003; it was also awarded to Tony Award-winning director George C. Wolfe.
LAByrinth spokeswoman Siobhan Foley said the company first develops its work at its summer intensive, which has been held at Bennington College in August for the past three years.
