In the late '80s, a young Dustin Schoenhofer could not sleep until he finished watching his favorite MTV show Headbangers Ball, a late-night program dedicated to airing heavy metal and hard rock music videos.
Now the 27-year-old Toledo native's band Walls of Jericho has just released the first single off their latest album, and on Saturday the show Schoenhofer was glued to as a kid is featuring the world premiere of the video for "A Trigger Full of Promises."
Also Saturday, the band plays at the DTE Energy Music Theatre north of Detroit on the Family Values Tour headlined by Korn and the Deftones.
Walls of Jericho is one of the rising stars of metalcore, a genre that mixes metal and hardcore music to form a faster style of metal. The Detroit band has released its fourth album, "With Devils Amongst Us," on TrustKill Records.
