Author, minister, and inspirational speaker Lisa Harper has an important message she wants to get across in Toledo next weekend: "Humans are a mess, and God is full of mercy."
It's something that applies to everyone, Ms. Harper said, although her primary audience is women. She will be the featured speaker at the 30th annual Changed Life Seminar, a nondenominational gathering for women at Emmanuel Baptist Church on March 20.
"I have some really good friends who are male Bible teachers and pastors and preachers and seminary professors, and I don't think we approach Scripture differently," she said in an interview. "But men and women have different needs. Women tend to want to talk a little more and to hear stories about relationships, because that's how we're divinely wired."
