The members of Kittie just finished their last set of high school exams in their hometown of London, Ontario, and they couldn't be happier.
With their tests out of the way, they are free at last to devote their time and youthful energy to what they love - heavy metal music.
During a phone interview from "some highway near Nashville," Kittie singer-guitarist Morgan Lander, 18, talked about how she relishes her newfound freedom and she set the record straight about everything from Kittie's aggressive sound to stage props and Britney Spears.
You don't have to spend much time on the phone with Lander before you realize that this kitten - along with her compatriots, guitarist- singer Fallon Bowman, drummer Mercedes Lander and bassist Talena - has claws.
Kittie will perform a sold-out show at Kitt's Korner on Saturday and fans can expect a straightforward, aggressive rock 'n' roll-to- metal show without a lot of gimmicks.
So forget what you've heard.
"We don't use blow-up dolls anymore," Lander insists.
Lander says blow-up dolls first appeared in their shows when they were performing for friends in Ontario years ago. But no more.
"We were trying to be funny then," Lander notes. "It was our old bass player's idea to...
