A banker has given the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation $425,000, the largest cash donation the foundation has ever received.
T. Denny Sanford's gift provides the matching funds needed to free up another $425,000 of a U.S. Save America's Treasures grant for repairs on Taliesin, Wright's home in Spring Green, said Carol Johnson, executive director of Taliesin Preservation Inc.
Sanford is chairman of First Premier Bank, Premier Bankcard and First Premier Capital of Sioux Falls, S.D. He lives part time in Scottsdale, Ariz., home of Taliesin West and the foundation's headquarters.
