Community leaders Monday unveiled the latest reincarnation of a ride service for the poor, funded by a coalition of government and nonprofit organizations and slated to start operating April 1.
YW Transit, operated by the YWCA Madison, is designed to fill the void left by the closure of Women's Transit Authority a year ago. "Because we had not had the service for over a year, people understand it is vitally important to this community," said Ald. Lauren Cnare, 3rd District.
