Northwest Airlines, which scaled back its service here this month, is adding 15 new nonstop flights from Memphis, including two to Toronto starting in April.
Toronto, the largest city in Canada, is the fifth international city the airline will serve from Memphis International Airport.
It also has flights to Amsterdam; Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Saturday service to Vancouver, Canada.
The other new flights include three daily trips to Chicago's Midway Airport beginning in late May; two daily flights to Washington's Dulles Airport beginning in mid-April and daily connections to Dayton, Ohio.
"These additional flights reflect our continuing commitment to the Memphis market," said Tom Bach, Northwest vice president of market planning and Airlink, its commuter arm.
The airline also is restoring service to Cleveland, Ohio, halted after Sept. 11, 2001. It also this winter announced new service to McAllen, Texas, starting March 22.
