The Washington University women's basketball team was in no mood for sharing.
"Oh, no way. As much respect as we have for (New York University), we didn't want anything to do with a co-championship," Bears' coach Nancy Fahey said after Sunday's 88-70 University Athletic Association victory over visiting NYU.
The Bears wrapped up their eighth conference title in 11 seasons and their first since 1995. That gives them the UAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Bears, ranked seventh nationally, improved to 22-2 overall, 12-1 in UAA play.
